美国纽约州立大学资深教授, 美国教育研究杂志主编路易斯·威斯（Lois Weis）受我所邀请，于11月7日至12日来我所开展系列讲座。11月8日星期一下午2:00-4:30威斯教授给我所研究生做了第一场讲座，题目是: Changing Landscape of Race/Ethnicity and Social Class in Worldwide Context；11月9日星期二下午2: 00-4: 30威斯教授开设了工作坊，我所部分教师和研究生一起参加，主题为：Publishing in Tier One Journals in the New University Context: Tips and Reflections；11月10日星期三上午8: 30-11:00，威斯教授再次为研究生开设了讲座，题目为： Beyond the Shadows of the Mills: Remaking Social Class Amidst the New Global Economy。
