Teacher Development and Professional learning communities: research and practices across six educational systems in the Asia-Pacific region(教师发展与专业学习社群:基于亚太地区六个教育制度的研究与实践)

Abstract: The world is changing at seemingly breakneck speed. Many nations around the world are undertaking wide-ranging reforms to prepare students for increasingly complex demands of life and develop the ability to compete effectively in a knowledge-based economy. Teachers are the single biggest in-school influence on student achievement and teacher quality is therefore central to improving education systems around the world. As a guest editor of a special issue on Global perspectives on developing professional learning communities, Professor Ting Wang will introduce research and practices about teacher development and professional learning communities across six educational systems in the Asia-Pacific region. She will provide insights into educational challenges faced by different education systems and the role of professional learning communities in the process of school improvement in these education systems.

From ‘publish or perish’ to ‘make your voice heard’: How to publish articles in international journals(从“发表或打磨”到“使你的声音被听到:如何在国际期刊上发表文章)

Are you under the pressure of "Publish or perish" in academia to rapidly and continually publish academic work to sustain or further your career? How to survive and thrive in an increasingly globalised and competitive environment?  How to publish articles in international journals? Will there be a tsunami of international researchers who will overwhelm the dominant Anglo-American researchers over time? How can you as Chinese education researchers make your voice heard in the international academic community? As a prolific author, an experienced reviewer for a number of international journals, and a guest editor for an International SSCI journal, Professor Ting Wang will share her observations and provide insights into these questions.
