The salon was held betweenheadmasters of the base schools and teachers of the Department of Education, ECNU successfully in Room 401, Liberal Arts Building on July 8th ,2018.This salon took " the school-based experiences, challenges and countermeasures of school governance in the new era" as the theme. The headmasters attended this salon, they were from schools as following: No.2 Middle School Affiliated to Tongji University, ShanghaiYucai High School, Shanghai Ganquan Foreign Languages Middle School, Jinshajiang Road Primary School, Shanghai Fudan Vanke Experimental Private School, Shanghai Fushan Foreign Language Primary School, Pingyang Primary School, No.1 Primary School of Dahushan Road, Nord Anglia Chinese International School, etc. The teachersfrom Department of Education attended the salon, including Huang Zhongjing, Wang Lunxin, Yang Xiaowei, Bu Yuhua, Cheng Liang, Huang Shuguang, Wang Baoxing, Ju Yucui, Wang Zhankui and Dong Xuan. Besidesthere werealso some students as representatives of base schools’ trainees participated in the salon.

In accordance with the agenda, Professor Huang Zhongjing, the Dean of the Department, delivered a speech. He said thatafter nearly three years of early cooperation, the Department of Education and the various base schools have achieved preliminary achievements of cooperation. He fully affirmed the enthusiasm and devotion of various schools, and hoped that through this salon, two sides can lay a solid foundation for further cooperation.

The morning session of the base school headmasters' experience exchange was hosted by Professor Bu Yuhua and Professor Wang Lunxin respectively. The headmasters and the school representatives made a themespeech respectively. For example, they introduced the challenges faced by in school governance, the countermeasures taken into and the experiences formed to solve the problems. There were some common problems, such as the "trust crisis", the professional development of teachers, the moral education, and the parents' education for the school education, as well as the unique and individual problems of their schools.

Subsequently, the participants conducted interactive exchanges on how to promote cooperation deeply between two sides. They formed a draft on Preliminary Deepened Cooperation Program and established the School Development Community (Alliance) of the Department of Education, East China Normal Universityinitially to strengthen the training, research and professional guidance of the teachers and improve the abilities for graduate students in teaching, research and practice areas.

In the afternoon session, Professor Yang Xiaowei, Director of the Institute for Basic Education Reform and Development of ECNU made a report entitled "the modernization of school change and U-S cooperation". Relying on his own national major subject research in deep cooperation with Hangzhou, Hefei, Jiaxing, Chongqing and other regions of China, Mr.Yang introduced the cooperation mechanism among universities, government and primary and secondary schools, and refined the trend of the cooperation between universities and primary and secondary schools.

The one day base school headmasters salon ended successfully. On the basis of sincere dialogue and deep discussion, a preliminary deepening of cooperation program had been formed to lay a solid foundation for the next step of cooperation and win-win development.
