Professor Bev Copper, Associate Dean of the Faculty of Education, the University of Waikato in New Zealand, and her Fellows Came to Our Department for Cooperation and Communication

 At 8:30 a.m. on October 19, 2017, invited by Department of Education, The National Institute of Schooling Reform and DevelopmentECNUProfessor Bev Copper, Professor Michael Peters and Professor Tina Besley from the Faculty of Education of the University of Waikato in New Zealand came to our department for cooperation and communication. Professor Huang Zhongjing, Professor Bu YuhuaProfessor Cheng Liang  and Associate Professor Dong Xuan attended the symposium.

First of all, Professor Huang Zhongjing introduced to them the overview of our department, including research fields, the number of teachers and students, and the recent status of postgraduates and doctoral graduates. Professor Huang put the emphasis of the introduction of our department on the training program of postgraduates, on academic research fields and on international exchange and cooperation.

Professor Michel Peters and Professor Tina Besley of the University of Waikato gave highly appraise to the training program of postgraduates and international exchange and cooperation of our department. They also introduced some accomplishments of the Faculty of Education of the University of Waikato, such as in the professional fields of educational philosophy, educational policy and the rankings the accomplishments obtained at home and abroad. Subsequently, Professor Michel Peters and Professor Besley put the emphasis of the introduction of the University of Waikato on the program of international exchange and cooperation, including the specific ways of co-cultivating postgraduates and doctoral graduates, the requirements of grades and papers, the prospects and opportunities of studying in New Zealand.

At last, both sides discussed how to deepen international exchange and cooperation and agreed for further communication and cooperation on jointly training postgraduates and doctoral graduates, on recruiting international students, on exchanging visiting scholars, on strengthening academic communication and other aspects for further communication and cooperation.
