Department of Education held the final sum-up meeting and experience exchange meeting of graduate cultivation in June 24th , 2017.The meeting was presided by Prof. Chengliang and more than 20 teachers attended.
At the beginning of the meeting, Huang Zhongjing—Chair of the Department—introduced the general situationsabout discipline construction, team construction, talent cultivation, scientific research, social service and internationalization, especially in the implementation of many initiatives on the "13th Five-Year" development plan our department did in the course of this semester.Mr. Huang stressed, althoughour teachers and students faced higher pressure in scientific research under the current circumstance, they should seize the opportunity, up for the challenge, and open up space for the future development of the Department.
Then, teachers made a frank and in-depth interactive communication on discipline construction and graduate cultivation combining their teaching work and scientific research.Everyone agreed that the Department of Education has formed a good academic traditions for many years and also increased the research capacity of graduate students in recent years, especially paidmore attentions to the process of monitoring and assessment of annual training in talent cultivation, All of things we did should be worthy of recognition.And referring to further improve the graduate cultivation, every teacher made his own point of view. They put forward many useful and practical advice, for example,developing top-quality teaching materials by combining with the discipline construction and teaching staff construction, focusing on new disciplines and fields, rewarding forgraduates’achievements in scientific research, improving the quality of all aspects of cultivating graduate students especially in the blind review and the defense of graduation thesis, etc.
Finally, the teachers also considered the draft documents, such as " The Rules for the Implementation of the Assessment and Appointment Work in Department of Education ", "The Rules for the Implementation of the Outstanding Thesis Recommend in Department of Education " and "The Terms and Conditions of UsingGraduate Thesis Evaluation and Defense Funds in Department of Education ".
The meeting lasted more than two hours, teachers shared opinion with each other, and worked together to seek the methods for development. The theme of the meeting was prominent, the atmosphere was warm and the result was remarkable. We believed that with the joint efforts of teachers and students of the whole department, the work for cultivating graduate would be better and better.
