The Second Postgraduate Academic Forum was held in Room 913, Liberal Arts Building in June 6, 2018.The purpose of this forum was to provide postgraduate students with opportunities for academic communicating and sharing, stimulating academic enthusiasm and enhancing scientific research abilities.Teachers of the Department of Education, such as Huang Zhongjing, Wang Lunxin, Huang Shuguang, Ning Bentao, Yang Guangfu, Liu Shiqing, Wang Zhankui, Dong Xuan, Li Lin, Du Mingfeng, Gao Xingyuan and other teachers were invited to attend the forum and be judges.The forum was divided into two sessions: one was in the morning, another was in the afternoon. It was hosted by the Postgraduate Student’s Association of the Department of Education.
Zhong Cheng, the presenter, gave a brief introduction to the agenda of the forum first.Mr. Huang Zhongjing, the Dean of the Department, made a speech for the forum.Mr. Huang said that June was the harvest season. It was a great pleasure to make a summary of scientific research achievements with our students by this forum and he congratulated the students who had won awards in paper writing competition. He mentioned that all the students who participated in the forum received great achievements last year as well. And he hoped that all the students should cherish the opportunity to communicate with other students and strive for better development in the future academic path.
And then Mr. Dong Xuan made an explanation about how to select the best paper writings for the forum. There are two principles or methods for selecting: two anonymous reviewers graded papers separately and participants’ mentors weren’t involved in the process of selecting, andthe first, second, third prizes were awarded according to the total scores.There were winners in each group: in doctor group, the 1st prizes were Hou Haoxiang and Wang Dan, the 2nd prizes were Li Dong and Li Xiang, the 3rd prizes were Yan Lingyan, Yuan Jing and Cui Haili; in master group, the 1st prizes were Zhong Cheng and Sun Jiawei, the 2nd prizes were Zhang Xianyu, Lan yuzheng and Sun Pengpeng, the 3rd prizes were Lu Xingqin, Gao Xiaoxiao and Wang Yanfang.
Next,the winning students showed their research achievements one by one, and the teachers and students discussed enthusiastically about each research topic.The judges affirmed the efforts of the students they made, pointed out the problems in their researches, put forward valuable advice on the clarification of the research problems, the logic of the thesis and the adjustment of the specific way of writing, and gave many suggestions for the further study of the students.
Finally, Mr. Wang Lunxin made a summary about the forum.Mr. Wang gave a brief review of the award-winning papers and he affirmed that they had problem consciousness and research achievements. He also encouraged students who did not win the prize should not lose heart and should continue to work hard. He was looking forward to seeing more and more students can achieve their academic goals in the future.
