From April 14 to 18, Prof. Yang Xiaowei, Prof. Huang Zhongjing, Prof. Huang Shuguang and Prof. Ju Yucui of the Department of Education, ECNU were invited to attend the 63rd Annual Conference of the Comparative and International Education Society (CIES) which was held in San Francisco, USA.
The theme of the conference is "Education for Sustainability". More than 3600 scholars, educators, members of charitable organizations and government officials from more than 120 countries and regions participated in the conference.

At the round-table conference, around the theme of "Shanghai Model of Teachers' Professional Development", Professor Yang Xiaowei reported on the topic of "Shanghai Model of Teaching and Research System". Professor Huang Shuguang reported on the topic of "Historical Experience of Shanghai Educators in Running Schools --Taking Chen Heqin's Exploration of Living Education as a Case". Professor Ju Yucui's report is entitled "The Role of Customized Workshops in Teachers' Sustainable Development: A Case Study of a Middle School in Shanghai", Professor Huang Zhongjing's report is entitled "Shanghai Model of Teachers' Professional Development: Data Report from Schools for Migrant Children in Shanghai". Participants were very interested in the model of teachers' professional development in Shanghai and had a heated discussion on its advantages and disadvantages.

In addition to attending the meeting, the delegation of the Department of Education also visited the University of Utah and had friendly communication with Professor Elaine Clark, Dean of the College of Education of the University, Professor Yongmei Ni, Director of the Department of Education Leadership and Policy, Director Andrea Rorrer of the Center for Education Policy Research and Deputy Director of Sabine Klahr of the Department of International Affairs. Teachers from both sides reached preliminary Intentions on personnel exchange visits, activities of “Academic Week” and cooperative research.
