Overview
The major isone of the self-sponsored disciplines of ECNU, and has the right to grant both master’s and doctorate degree. Its faculty consists of 2 professors, 1 associate professor.
Research Concentrations
1. Educational Sociology Analysis: research educational problems in the view of sociology and using the theory and method of sociology, including educational system, social differences and education equality, education and social mobility and stratification in macro-level; educational organization and efficacy, social factors on school development in medium level; curriculum sociology and class analysis in micro-level.
2. Educational Culture Research: research educational problems by using the theory and method of anthropology, culture research and narrative analysis, for instance, the culture meaning of school building and circumstance in object dimension; culture-education formation, teacher culture formation, school culture reestablishment, etc. in institutional dimension; culture and leaner’s thinking, culture and discipline knowledge presentation, etc. in mental dimension.

Graduate Destination
Postgraduates will work in secondary or primary schools, universities or research institutes for teaching and science research, and also take up a position of teaching management in local education colleges.
