From Oct. 16, 2017 to Oct. 20, 2017, invited by Professor Huang Zhongjing from the Department of Education, Dr Ranveig Falch from the University of Bergen in Norway came to the department to exchange views about International Cooperation Research Program that was developed through “The Education Fair Laboratory” of “Shanghai Peak Program” and “Fair” of the University of Bergen. The research aimed to study the development level of children's sense of fairness in different ages and the development of social preference in China through the methods of behavioral economics and Experimental Economics, in order to provide a theoretical basis and international reference for the optimization of China's education fair policy after international comparative studies.
On Oct. 17, a seminar was condcted by Dr. Ranveig Falch and the team members of the project. Professor Huang firstly introduced the overall situation, research focuses and future planning of "The Education Fair Laboratory" of “Shanghai Peak Program”. Then, Dr. Ranveig Falch introduced the overall situation, personnel structure, research areas and academic achievements of “Fair” of the University of Bergen. After exchanges, both sides had strengthened mutual understanding and trust.
During Oct.18 and Oct. 19, the team members of the project and Dr. Ranveig Falch conducted in-depth exchanges and discussions on project implementation and experimental details. And they carried out many simulation experiments in East China Normal University and a primary school in Shanghai, laying a good foundation for subsequent large-scale experiments.
On Oct. 20, Professor Huang and Dr. Ranveig Falch conducted further exchanges on International Cooperation Research Program. They discussed the follow-up plans for the project, when concerned to such issues as the selection of the subjects, the exchange of personnel, the mechanism of cooperation and the forms of results.
“Fair”of the University of Bergen in Norway, an interdisciplinary and international research institute, mainly concerns with the relationship between the economic and moral choices made by adults and children and the development of the sense of fairness. It has published research results in the Science and other international journals and has a good reputation in the international academic community. In September, 2017, a cooperation agreement was formally signed by “The Education Fair Laboratory” of East China Normal University and “Fair” of the University of Bergen.
